The Gazette Media Group Intern Program offers current students and recent graduates the opportunity to gain relevant, hands-on work experience at a leading media company. Interns work alongside seasoned professionals to support a variety of projects.
Summer 2026 Intern Openings – Writer (Affinity Website)
Location: In-person – Troy, MI
Pay: $18 per hour
Schedule: 20 hours per week
Duration: June 1, 2026 – August 14, 2026
About the Internship
We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Summer Writing Intern to support content creation for our affinity website. This is a hands-on, in-office internship ideal for students interested in writing, digital media, marketing, journalism or communications. You’ll gainreel-world experience creating content that informs, engages, and serves a targeted audience.
Responsibilities
- Write clear, engaging and well researched product posts and articles for our affinity website.
- Assist with content ideas, outlines and topic research
- Edit and proofread content to ensure accuracy, clarity and consistency
- Collaborate with the marketing and content team on tone, messaging and deadlines
- Learn and follow basic SEO and content best practices
- Support ongoing content projects as needed
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university (English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or related field preferred).
- Strong writing, grammar, and proof reading skills
- Ability to research topics and write for specific audience
- Organized dependable, and able to meet deadlines
- Comfortable working in an in-office, team based environment
- Familiarity with blogs, websites or digital content is a plus
